Problem areas: physical and/or cognitive (stress)?
Of course prevention of problems by upgrading body and mind condition is my priority. But if problems reveal, problem areas covered by my knowledge and experience are short-lasting physical problems (e.g. sport injuries) as well as combinations of physical problems with mind changes such as daily worries or fear of movement. It has been shown in research that pain leads to cognitive distress which of course makes the problem bigger and the healing less effective. To solve a problem I believe it is often necessary to pay attention to all aspects of a person.
I am specialised in long-lasting (chronic) problems for example headache, neckpain, low back pain. During a coaching period you will learn how to manage your pain instead of hoping that others take the pain away. By practical down to earh exercises you will get a grip of situations in your life without trying to solve the medical problem which has been tried for for many times already. Special attention can be given to the relation with work.
A special area of my work is within the problems of overweight and obesity. Overweight or obesity are often seen as a one cause problem and often treated as such for example using diets. I believe dealing with weight should always be done looking at a long term result and using a healthy method. I can help you look at the balance between energy intake (eating) and energy use (activity). Attention wil be given to why this balance is off, how to rebalance it and most important how to keep your weight the way you like it.
My way of training is focused on problem management. By changing your own behaviour you will get in control. To change behaviour a strong motivation is required. I don't believe in using pills or short term diets as a healthy way of life. If you are willing to put effort in yourself, I can help you reach a better quality of life, guaranteed.
